Space hulk is about horror, so as I started adding layers of weathering, I paused to add some blood. I think the carnage looks pretty cool. In my imagination, the guys boarding the hulk would be entering a crime scene of sorts. I am so grateful all of the doors are done. Those were tedious.
They look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteSweet! How'd you do the blood??
ReplyDeleteTamiya clear red, with a drop of Secret Weapon Miniatures Heavy Black wash mixed in. I put a gob of the mixture on an brush and then used my airbrush to spray the blood off of the brush and onto the walls.
DeleteAmazing board! Really good work.
ReplyDeleteNow, that blood is very cool.It adds some 3D feel to the otherwise flat panels. I like the way this is going.
ReplyDeleteOh John, you are having so much fun with this! I can see it! Are you giggling while you do the effects?
ReplyDeleteI keep thinking about aliens as I work on each piece. I just finished the ops room add on, which looks like one of the sets on Aliens. I think this will be fun to play ohs at NOVA.
DeleteGruesome! That adds a ton of ambiance to the pieces, lovely work man!
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying the weathering. I still have 8 bags of the stuff to go though. This is definitely a long haul!
DeleteWhen will you be playing with this thing?
ReplyDeleteNOVA the latest, but hopefully sooner. I might be used in a TGS game
DeleteLooking awesome man!!! The blood really adds to it for sure!
