This is a warning for anyone who airbrushes and thought that Microscale's Micro Mask would be good to use to mask off complex shapes like space marine iconography or shoulder pads. Avoid it at all costs. It may be good for something, but as a mask it fails.
I love micro set and micro sol, but Micro Mask is garbage. I now consider the internet warned.
On the other hand, I now get to enjoy hours of tediously picking rubbery mask off of my Tyranid war veterans. I mean who doesn't enjoy stabbing themselves in the fingers repeatedly, while trying to get tiny globs of rubber off of miniatures. Good times.
(you guys were right. I wish I had taken your warnings!)

Ghost Ark Rant
So like many of you, I rushed out an bought a whole neuron army this past weekend. I've got a color scheme I am really looking forward to painting, but the deal is that I cannot start painting until the whole army is built. That way, I can ensure the colors and blending are the same, as well as minimize base color painting time, since I can do it in bulk with my airbrush. I had planned to share photos of my mint green enamel colored nectrons tonight, but that was before I met the ghost ark.
Ok---now the rant.
Seriously..what do I have to do to keep the spine of the thing together. I have glued, scraped, re-glued, and repeated the following process so much at this point that I am slowly dissolving the spine. It looks more organic now that when I bought it. Why on earth did they not just create a support spine running the length of the kit, and then have the spines snap into it. The two sprue symmetry would still work. I love the finished ghost ark kit, and I really want to paint it, but glue has to dry...again.

Rant:White Primer
So I had a brief spin back to cleveland, and am not back in Cambridge. Last night my wife helped me prime a bunch of AoBR marines to use as a test for my new color scheme. I hate white primer. One more time.
I hate white primer.
What is it with this stuff. Half of the time it produces white rough dust all over the miniatures. I took an old brush and 'sanded' the worst of the power off, and will probably paint these up anyway. The question I have is why I am able to flawlessly prime with black every single time, but that white primer is a crap shoot I usually loose. I will post photos as I paint up the marines.
rant off.
