Valkyrie Refurbish WIP 2

The Valkyrie is coming along nicely. For a model that has mold lines, poor glueing, and other defects, I really like it. I need to add environmental effects to it now. Chipping, flak steaks, engine exhaust, and loads of dripping will finish this model off. It would be nice to find the pilots and the heavy bolters for the doors, but that might be a bridge too far.

  1. That is looking pretty slick chief.

  2. Great skills, nice scheme but I'm not sold on the red air intakes, yes barrel flash, but imho too much on the intakes, but nevertheless good job mate.

    1. I appreciate the comment. I was tempted to paint the air intakes black or white, but ended up with the red/orange color in order to tie it into the other fighter a little more. Orange is the accent color for my DKoK, so I wanted it on the model somewhere. Now that the model is weathered up and all the lenses are painted blue, I think it pops pretty well.

  3. Ah, that explains to the intake colour....

It looks great, looking forward to seeing some heat colouration on the engine bits - I don't normally challenge people to do what I would find hard but you're no slouch with the ol' paint brush.

PM me via my profile on Devos IV, I might have a set of Valk bolters somewhere.
