On The Painting Table: Calgar & Honor Guard

More old metal models receive paint! These were put away at least a decade ago before I finally decided to paint them this week. I'm painting really loosely here, blocking in color, partially finishing an area, and then arbitrarily moving to other more interesting areas to paint. I think they are turning out well, despite this ad-hoc approach.

  1. Nice to see these older figs getting some love!

  2. Almost a shame MC is no longer the big daddy. RG kinda takes the limelight. I have a Marneus Relicgar heading up my Relictors!

  3. Really enjoyed seeing your techniques in action. Are you sure they couldn't use a few more purity seals? Hah!

  4. They are coming along really well. The blues done with airbrush? What is your technique for it?

    1. These are a combination of airbrush and glazing. The airbrush picked out mid-tones from the dark areas. I’m using glazing to put highlights and deeper shadows in. The glazing is also helping refine all the cylindrical shapes. It has been an incredibly fast way to paint.
