Warlord Titan: Here Comes The Gun

I started working on one of the arm weapons yesterday and realized I needed a hoist to make it easier to paint. Beasts like this kit, require so many weird work arounds to make building possible. It is a lot of fun.

Also, here is a head update. I've started adding some rust/debris streaking. The other panels have not be touched yet besides pin washing.

Warlord Pin Washes

I'm finally at the enamel phase, where I get to add pin washes around all of the panels. Once they are done, I glue them on move on to the next panel. By the end of the week all of the panels should be completed, and the streaking can commence!

Warlord Head

I've had some primer issues as well as lacquer issues, so the only progress I have really made is in blocking the head and gun cowling colors. Unfortunately, I can't get paint to stick to the gold trim on parts of the gun cowlings, so I might be forced to scrub them down and repaint. This would not be terrible, since they already have a crackly texture due to GW varnish going on poorly.

Warlord Titan Taking Shape

This is guy is really taking shape now that the top panels have had their color blocked in. The head and guns are next, to be followed by the torso panels. Those will be difficult as they are attached to what feels like 6 pounds of resin, so maneuvering them is difficult. I think the cleanup, chipping, and enamels will be easier than the color blocking process, but who knows, this beast has been surprising to paint all along.

Warlord Titan: The Panels Never Stop

The panels keep on coming. I'm thinking about making the main top plates black with yellow flames. That would ease up on the eyes a bit. The head is going to be white. The eyes...well orange of course!

This is still just color blocking, so there are a lot of paint defects. I just need to see the whole heraldry at once.

Warlord Titan: Tiger Eyes: Blocking In Color

This thing is a bear to paint, but more progress has been made. I'm still just blocking in color. I think this is the longest base coat in history!

Warlord Titan Color Scheme Reveal

I bring you the lower half of a loyalist Warlord Titan from a 30k traitor legion. As I imagine it, this is one of the titan's purged from the legions prior to them rebelling. Regardless, this thing is a beast to paint. It is heavy. Little bits keep breaking off, and I didn't pick the easiest of color schemes. But I suppose, how many titans will any hobbyist ever paint? (Unless you are Nate. Nate is a warlord titan factory)

Warlord Paint Test #2

After a quick bath in Simple Green, I gave the Tiger Eyes titan legion color scheme another shot not the spare warhound shin. This was a fast paint job, but I've learned quite a bit already. My enamels have become chunky, and Scale 75 gold does not cover as well as I thought. With that said, I am happier with the hard edged black flames than the soft edged ones, and I think adding green and blue to the color scheme really helps. I think some Legio Furian white script in the blue stripes would look really cool.

Time to dump the shin back into Simple Green for another scrub down.
