Imperial Guard Stormlord










I've been doing other kinds of art for a while, so it felt good to get back to some trusty rusty 40k. This is a salvage Stormlord Baneblade variant. I should have painted it to match my Death Korps of Krieg army, but I decided to just let inspiration take me wherever it did. I really enjoyed this quick vaguely WW2 inspired paint job. I prefer to paint on battle damage, but for this tank I went for actual paint chips using one of Mig's chipping products. It feels good to let loose every now and then.

      Thanks! Though, I think any crew that kept their vehicle in this kind of shape would be facing an extreme reprimand when they got back to the motor pool! :)

    It's not that bad, some T-Cut and bit of rubbing and you'd never even know that it was a used model.

    There are two types of tank I like for the guard, mint condition and then been through hell and back. Perfect example of the later.

    I enjoy that on the back of a super heavily armored tank, there are open topped guns on the back for individual dudes to operate. They don't even get a roof! Feels very Imperial Guard
