I realize the DKoK are supposed to be extraordinarily disciplined, but I wanted to give the Medusa a lived in feel. The Base layers and some oils have been completed, and I decided to make a little girly magazine and some beer cans to add to the interior. I'll be adding additional stowage, so the placement isn't finalized. I just wanted to see what people thought of my beer cans. I have not been able to paint any meaningful design on them without deforming them, so they would remain blue. Anyone have a source for 1/56 beer cans? I used aluminum foil wrapped around a cocktail straw to make these.

ReplyDeleteI think I need to work on the beer cans. I really want them to have white labels and say ADEPT BEER in a generic black font. Once all the dirt is added I'll focus more on the trash.
DeleteSimply awesome! Little touches like the magazine and such really add a ton of character to the model, as well as help establish a sense of scale.
ReplyDeleteThere are a few O scale beer bottles to be had on shapeways, otherwise I'd say maybe slices of appropriately thick plastic rod and a little GS pull tab for cans?

ReplyDeleteAs for the cans, could you print paper and then wrap it around a stick to make the cylinder, and then a couple of layers of gloss/PVA?
