I figured it was about time for me to film some of my projects. What you see here is my first attempt doing that. I found it incredibly awkward trying to paint with a camera getting in my way, but I think with a less invasive setup this will work out. As a test video, I did not both to narrate or even finish the model. This is just some simple paint chipping using Vallejo black brown. After the whole model is chipped, I'll get some streaking done on it.
Finally! Yes John, show me your secrets!
ReplyDeletewait that sounds bad
yep, looks good. I use a similar set up :)
ReplyDeleteTotally just a test! I almost didn't post it. I'd like to do a rhino start to finish with color modulation. There is a guy who goes by QDC on youtube who builds historical models start to finish. I really like his stuff, which is weirdly uplifting and positive. I hope to do the same.
ReplyDeleteYes, this filming method has much better resolution than the Hobby Hangout. And more focus on the task at hand, ha, ha!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to finally watch your thought process for placing the chipping. I look forward to seeing videos of the pin washes and pigment applications!
Nice technique and video. What I'd like to see is how you achieve that awesome shading on your armour panels!!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing a vid of you chatting as you do it.
ReplyDeletenice! I've been looking at adding some videos to mine as well, what are you using for a video setup? Yours keeps focus throughout the video which is nice - so many other keep trying to auto focus.
